Mobilising Talent: The Global Mobility Challenge

A new whitepaper from Ipsos and BDO International Limited captures the findings of the first comprehensive, international study into employee mobility of its kind that focuses on the employee’s — not the employer’s — point of view. This report was written by Ipsos based on the findings from the 2012 Employee Mobility study, conducted by Ipsos Global @dvisor on behalf of the Canadian Employee Relocation Council (CERC).

The poll of 12,827 employees in 24 countries is the second fielding of the employee relocation survey first conducted in August 2011. The global poll is sponsored by BDO, TheMIGroup, HSBC Bank Canada, Atlas Canada, Brookfield Global Relocation Services, Crown World Mobility, ERCO Worldwide, NEI Global Relocation and Weichert Relocation Resources Inc.

Favorability Towards Energy Sources Among Americans

Over that last few years environmental concerns related to energy production have been heightened in the wake of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill and the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident. Looking at U.S. public views on energy sources specifically, this paper compares 2009 and 2012 results from the Global Energy Barometer study. These findings reveal three notable trends including: renewable energy sources remain those Americans favor most, a decline in favorability towards nuclear energy and an interesting generational shift regarding energy sources.

Evolution of Online Political Survey Research: An AMA Marketing Power Podcast

The survey research landscape is changing. Old standards of data collection are under increased pressure as forms of human interaction and communication change. For decades, RDD landline telephone surveys were the “gold standard” for social and market research in the US. However, as people move to handheld mobile devices approaches to cell phone sampling and online surveys have been adopted by the research industry. Online survey research is still evolving and the results of the 2012 Presidential Election put a spotlight on its capabilities as many of the most accurate pollsters used an online survey approach, including Ipsos.

Hear Julia Clark and Paul Abbate discuss how online political survey research is changing as well as the challenges and opportunities it presents.
