Washington, DC - Ipsos' latest poll, carried out on behalf of Reuters and published today, shows that Gubernatorial Demcratic candidate John Hickenlooper enjoys a substantial lead among likely voters with Tom Tancredo in the race (Hickenlooper is on 41%, compared to Republican Maes on 33% and Tancredo on 16%) … but that the race is a dead heat if Tom Tancredo drops out (45% each for Hickenlooper and Maes).

Washington, DC - No one has a crystal ball, but prospects are looking good for Republicans. Indeed, at this stage of the 2010 electoral cycle, self-identified Republican voters are much more enthusiastic about voting than Democrats. In numeric terms, Republicans hold a 19 point advantage over Democrats and a 33 point advantage over Independents (see table 1 in full article attached).

New York, NY – Full-time employees of large companies in the United States or more spend on average two-thirds of their working hours in a sitting position, according to a new study conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs on behalf of Ergotron. On average, full-time employees of companies with 1,000 or more employees report spending an average of 21 hours per week seated at a desk, nearly three hours per week seated in meetings and four hours per week seated working at home – a total of 28 hours out of an average workweek of 42 hours, or close to 7 hours on a typical work day. The study also found that full-time workers at large companies spend an average of 25 working hours each week facing a computer or a mobile device, or about 6 hours on a typical work day.

New York, NY – Nine in ten parents believe safety is the top reason to allow children to have cell phones, according to a new Ipsos poll conducted on behalf of Duracell, a leading manufacturer of high-performance alkaline batteries. The survey of parents with at least one child under 18 shows that 90% of parents think that safety or in case of an emergency is the primary reason parents allow their children to have cell phones. Over four in five (85%) say peace of mind knowing that they can communicate with their kids at all times is also a main reason.

Washington,DC- Ipsos' most recent poll carried out on behalf of Reuters and published today shows that - as is the case across the country - Ohio Republicans appear to be much more likely to show up at the polls in 2010 (75% of Republicans are 'certain' they will vote this Novmeber, compared to 52% of Democrats). The million dollar question going into this election cycle is whether Democrats will be able to minimize this 'enthusiasm gap' presently found between their base and that of the Republicans.

New York, NY – A new poll conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs on behalf of Procter & Gamble Professional shows that nine out of 10 (90 percent) business decision makers surveyed, consider that the issue of sustainability and environmental responsibility is at least somewhat important to their business – including more than half who report it is extremely important (23 percent) or very important (33 percent).
