Ipsos/Reuters Daily Election Tracking: Obama 46% - Romney 47%

Washington, D.C. - Today’s Reuters/Ipsos daily tracking poll shows Romney at 47% and Obama at 46% among likely voters, a one-point lead for Mitt Romney. This represents a change of one point for both candidates (Romney up one and Obama down one) since yesterday.
Other findings from today’s data include:
- 17% now say they have already cast their vote this election, and this breaks down 53% for Obama / 42% for Romney
- The numbers on the debate haven’t changed much since yesterday:
- 47% think Obama was better vs. 33% who think Romney was
- For most (50% for Obama and 45% for Romney), the debate did not change their view of the candidate
This is a daily rolling tracker – this means that we conduct 300+ interviews a day, with occasional ‘boosts’, and aggregate data from the previous 4-5 days. The sample overlap that occurs as part of this process means that day-to-day changes will be incremental rather than large.
These are findings from an Ipsos poll conducted for Thomson Reuters from Oct. 20-24, 2012. For the survey, a sample of 1,621 American
registered voters and 1,222 Likely Voters (all age 18 and over) was interviewed online. Likely voter model adjusted to include all
respondents who have voted, as of 10.15.12. The precision of the Reuters/Ipsos online polls is measured using a credibility interval. In this
case, the poll has a credibility interval of plus or minus 2.8 percentage points for Registered Voters and 3.2 for Likely Voters. For more

The data were weighted to the U.S. current population data by gender, age, education, and ethnicity. Statistical margins of error are not
applicable to online polls. All sample surveys and polls may be subject to other sources of error, including, but not limited to coverage error
and measurement error. Figures marked by an asterisk (*) indicate a percentage value of greater than zero but less than one half of one
per cent. Where figures do not sum to 100, this is due to the effects of rounding.
