Political Polling in Florida: Wave 3

Monday, October 25, 2010

Washington, DC - Ipsos' latest poll carried out on behalf of the Miami Herald, St. Petersburg Times, BayNews9, and Central Florida News 13 and published yesterday shows that the Republicans are poised to win the Senate race and three down-ballot races (Attorney General, Chief Financial Officer, and Commissioner of Agriculture). However, the Gubernatorial race looks closer, with Democrat Alex Sink trailing her Republican opponent Rick Scott by 3 points among likely voters.

Scott is on 44% to Sink's 41%, with 11% of likely voters unsure or undecided two weeks out from election day. In the Senate race, Marco Rubio enjoys a strong lead (41%) over his Democratic opponent Kendrick Meek (20%) and independent opponent Charlie Crist (26%).

The poll also covered a range of questions on the retirement age, healthcare, proposed ballot initiatives, and the Tea Party.
