Research Manager - Toronto - 1 year contract

Position Summary:

You have a proven ability nurturing business relationships and inspiring confidence in your clients. You have a reputation for creativity, attention to detail and strategic insight in the delivery of research services. You enjoy working in a team environment, have strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and are highly motivated to succeed. In addition, you have a passion for public opinion research.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be proficient in quantitative research methodologies. In addition, strong knowledge and hands-on experience of the following areas is required:

  • Evaluation and research planning and design, development of logic models, general theory and principles of program evaluation
  • Statistical theory, and modeling methodologies at an intermediate level for the extraction, collection, compilation and analysis and reporting of data
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, develop, plan and manage evaluations
  • Designing research survey instruments (questionnaires, tables, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills to produce technical reports, and present both proposals and results on complex topics in a clear and concise manner to clients who may be unfamiliar with the technical aspects of research
  • Interactive skills used to consult with and advise clients in a way that will ensure their needs are met

Ideal Candidate has the following Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent with specialization in Economics, Social Sciences (Psychology or Sociology), Math or Statistics, or related field of study is preferred
  • Minimum 2-3 years progressive experience conducting research and/or evaluation projects
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite of products (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint) and SPSS.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work as a team member and engage in continuous learning
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, including balancing multiple priorities
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Self-motivated individual who strives in deadline driven environment.
